You Can Improve Your Intuition Through Tarot!
Metaphysical tools for divination can open you up to new ideas and possibilities! Tarot cards are especially effective for improving your intuition and tapping into your higher Self. Use them to receive objective information and enlightenment.
The Tarot is based on symbolism that brings forth information and "remembering" from your subconscious, higher Self - so you can come up with the answer you seek. Unrestricted by language, the symbolism activates the intuitive right brain to interpret the cards you select.
The deck is a total of 78 cards: 22 cards make up what is called the Major Arcana - the archetypal symbols in the journey through life. Carl Jung called it the "process of individuation". 56 cards are the Minor Arcana - there are four suits with an Ace through 10 and 4 Royal or "wise people" cards. Your typical deck of playing cards are based on the Minor Arcana. It is believed that these playing cards were created to disguise the Tarot deck when the Church started forbidding the Tarot and other divination tools.
Origin? The origin of the Tarot itself is somewhat a mystery. Most researchers feel that the origins are in the east, particularly in Egypt. The Egyptian cards are believed to come from the Book of Thoth and some pictures from the Tarot have been found inside the Great Pyramid.

The Knights Templar have been recognized as the ones who brought this to Europe in the 12th century. The first mentioned documentation is as a card game in Italy called "Taroccoi" (a forerunner for bridge). Also found in France was the Tarot de Marseilles, used for obtaining answers to questions. Both of these are recorded in documentation around the 14th century.
Where did the Word "Tarot" come from? Suggestions: - Tarotee - the name of the classic pattern on the reverse side of the ancient cards.
- Taru - Hindu for cards.
- Torah - the first 5 books of the old testament, meaning divine law.
- Ator - a form of the Goddess Hathor's name; synonymous with the Egyptian deities Isis and Nut.
- Tao - Chinese and Tariqa - Arabic: both meaning "The Way"
